Hospitable Spain is a European country of bright colors, thrills and architectural masterpieces. Seasonality of rest:
The optimal time for a beach vacation starts in May and lasts until October. The sea warms up to 25 degrees, the air temperature during the day reaches 32 degrees. But on the Canary and Balearic Islands, the tourist season lasts all year round.
Visa requirements:
Visa-free regime has been in effect since June 11, 2017. You can stay in the EU countries for 90 days within 6 months. Documents: international passport (biometric passport is required, if it is a regular passport, you need to open a visa at the embassy in advance, valid for at least 3 months after the date of departure); return ticket; documents confirming solvency (bank statement on the account balance, traveler’s checks); insurance (risk coverage in the amount of 30,000 euros).
Etiquette and peculiarities of the country:
Here there is such a thing as “siesta” – a period of time from 15.00 to 17.00, when everything is closed and the Spaniards have 2 hours of rest. City beaches are closed at night.
National cuisine:
The most iconic national sandwich in Spain is Tapas. This is a huge number of mini-sandwiches, canapes and just a variety of cuts of cured ham and seafood. A well-known Spanish specialty is jamon (raw cured ham). Paella is considered to be the national delicious dish here. Sangria is considered to be a symbol of Spain. This is red or white wine infused with fruit – apples, citrus fruits or berries. Cold tomato gazpacho soup will be a great lunchtime refreshment from the heat.
Interesting places to visit:
You should definitely go on a sightseeing tour of Barcelona. You will see the old Gothic-style quarter, the Cathedral of the Holy Family, Guell Park, Plaça Catalunya, and walk along the Barcelona waterfront. The trip will end with an enchanting show of the magical singing fountain of Monjuïc in the open air. For entertainment lovers, we recommend visiting the huge Port Aventura amusement park. In the Canary Islands, head to the Teide National Park. 50 km from Barcelona is Mount Monserrat, which has unusual shapes. And for those who like shopping, we advise you to visit the Barcelona outlet – La Roca Village.
What to bring:
Jamon, small slices can be bought in supermarkets. Olive oil, cheese. Be sure to take a bottle of sangria, as well as just Spanish wine. Women will be interested in buying pearl jewelry.
